Phishing
Keep an eye out for fraud attempts
Phishing is a fraud technique used by malicious parties to steal personal data such as your login details, passwords or bank details.
These messages may mimic communications from official sources, such as Sigedis or mypension.be, to trick you into clicking on a link or providing sensitive information.
How to spot phishing?
Be particularly wary if you receive a message:
- containing spelling mistakes or unusual formatting
- asking you to quickly click on a link or send data
- displaying a suspicious sender address
- claiming to come from Sigedis, mypension.be or another public service.

What Sigedis never does
- We will never ask you to provide your personal details by email.
A typical example: a message claiming to be from mypension.be with a link asking you to "update your information.”
- If you have any doubts, don’t click on it and tell us about it.
- We do not send links to login pages via unsecured text messages or emails.
- All official communications are sent through secure and identified channels.
What should you do if in doubt?
If you think you have received a fraudulent message:
- Don’t click on any links
- Don’t respond to the message
- Report it on our reporting form
- Or use the national platform: www.safeonweb.be ay11.link.new_window
It's better to report a suspicious message than to ignore a real threat.
