Career figures and statistics
Since 1968, Sigedis has been collecting data on careers in Belgium. We draw on our statistics to provide insights into changes to careers and career progression in Belgium. Among other things, we analyse the changes to non-working periods and different statuses such as male/female, employee/self-employed/public sector worker.
Through these analyses, we aim to gain a better understanding of the career landscape in Belgium. This knowledge is intended for both policymakers and society in general, so that informed decisions can be made about the future development of careers in Belgium.
A central platform
In this context, Sigedis intends in the future to launch a new digital platform that will centralise reliable and neutral statistics on careers in Belgium and make them available to a broad public.
The platform will also enable us to publish an annual update on the career situation in Belgium, in collaboration with the NSSO and other experts.
