Our missions

Sigedis carries out its missions within the social security network. These missions lie in three areas:

Career

We have been managing employee and civil servant career data for the entire social security system for decades, including archiving electronic work documents and managing individual training accounts. We ensure that career data are reliable and fully consolidated and that citizens themselves can consult them on mycareer.be at any time and in a clear way. Finally, we also answer questions about careers in Belgium.

Supplementary pensions

We manage and operate the Supplementary Pensions Database (DB2P) and provide the necessary data and related services and applications to a wide range of partners. We make our data and expertise available to society and citizens via PensionStat.be and mypension.be.

Identity management

We participate in the management of the administrative identity of citizens covered by social insurance, regardless of their career or supplementary pension. We play a central role in the correct identification of foreign citizens, including through applications such as BelgianIDpro.be and mybelgianID.be. We also actively detect fraud. In addition, we ensure that people have access to their own data, in particular through a virtual LRA (authentication key desk) for foreigners wishing to use Belgian online services, and through the citizen mandate system for social security.
