Sigedis continues its European cooperation with ETS

The project phase for the establishment of a European platform similar to mypension.be was successfully completed in Brussels on 30 November.

Sigedis & the Federal Pensions Service are proud to have played an active part in the creation of a European pensions platform that will eventually be accessible to all European citizens who want to know their pension entitlements across Europe.

FindyourPension.eu is a collaboration between several European countries. For Belgium, Sigedis and the Federal Pensions Service (FPD) are involved in these developments. Sigedis & FPD were already providing the development of a coherent product vision and technical proof of concept for the Pension Tracker, the main feature of the FindyourPension.eu portal. Using this Pension Tracker everyone will eventually be able to find the pension entitlements they have accrued in the European countries connected to the system.

Steven Janssens, general director of Sigedis: ‘Since the launch of this project, we have done our best to facilitate the technical implementation of this project by sharing our Belgian know-how with other stakeholders.’

Belgium is also the first European country to have made its pension data available to foreign citizens on the European platform FindyourPension.eu via the Pension tracker.

Karine Lalieux, minister for Pensions: ‘We have been working hard in Belgium for several years to make our pensions data as accessible as possible through mypension.be. Our platform allows every citizen to view their pension entitlements in a clear and transparent way. We therefore thought it was important to make our data available to foreign citizens as soon as possible too.’

On 30 November, FindYourPension.eu's partners also launched a new organisation, the European Tracking Service or ETS, which will manage the FindYourPension.eu platform and is intended to connect more countries to the application. ETS will therefore be developing the next steps of the digital platform for FindyourPension.eu. By becoming members of ETS, Sigedis and the FPD are continuing with their commitment to closely monitor the future developments of this common platform so that it serves the more than 10 million European citizens who have worked in various European countries during their professional career.

Vincent Mahieu, Deputy Administrator General of SFP: ‘This platform is only a first step, but it is already a big one  towards transparent entitlements for all European citizens.’
